Laura Elmer

As a graduate student of the Office of University Writing, a major part of my job was working closely with faculty in a number of different situations. I consulted with professors on certain writing assignments and acted as a guest lecturer in other courses to kick-start workshops and certain writing assignments. This opportunity taught me how to work with a number of different fields and to recognize the strengths of certain majors and how they connect to writing and communication as a whole. It also taught me the importance of exchanging knowledge with colleagues and building off of one another’s expertise and strengths. Here are a few of the faculty development videos that were a part of an online symposium that I helped create in my time in the Office of University Writing.
