Laura Elmer

Home-grown in Athens, GA - I've lived in a collection of college towns - young cities that are always thriving; each a metropolis of learning. These towns are the types of  places where people are always coming and going, sharing ideas and molding each other. I attribute a lot of who I am, a lover of knowledge and a companion of curiosity, to these atmospheres of growth.

I received my BA in English and my dual MA in Literature, Rhetoric and Composition from Auburn University where my professional experiences ranged from teaching freshmen literature and writing courses to working with digital writing experiences and portfolio pedagogy. I then worked as the Assistant Director of the Office of University Writing at Auburn University, in charge of the QEP, the ePortfolio Project. Now, I am the Coordinator of the Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholars and LifeReady Guide Program at Berry College, helping students synthesize their learning experiences inside and outside the classroom.

My experiences are a patchwork quilt of uniquely different opportunities and interests, but that are a representation of who I am as a teacher, lover of education, and life-long learner. Thanks for visiting! (Click the Icon below to download my CV)
