​In the Classroom:

 

Out of all of the different hats that I have worn in my professional career, being a teacher is probably my first love. I taught in the college classroom for two years, and have also instructed in many different settings to different ages and groups that others might not necessarily conceive of as teaching at first glance (see faculty development, student support, and other references on my CV for more information).



​Teaching Philosophy:

Teaching, for me, is not filling students with information or sculpting them into my own beautiful creation.  Instead, teaching is giving students the tools to create and be artists on their own.  Therefore, as I teacher, I am not primarily an artist, but a motivator, a catalyst, and a coach.  With the goal of student motivation at the forefront of my teaching, creativity and flexibility are important parts of my job...
